Hi Everyone! A couple of days ago, I got to go to Summer In The City. I went last year and absolutely loved it and this year was no different! We also went to Brighton for a couple of days as well and it was such a nice city. In the words of Mark Ferris, ‘I’ve never felt safer.’ I will be writing a post about my actual SITC experience but for now I thought it would be nice to show what I wore when I was away.
*Apologies for the photos in advance, I’m really impressively unphotogenic and England is A LOT hotter than Scotland resulting in a sweaty Scottish me.*
So on the Friday, which was the SITC creator day, I wore this tie back top from Miss Selfridge and these cute floral shorts from Matalan. This outfit may not look like a lot of clothes (lol because it’s 2 items of clothing Cat) but this was a lifesaver in the heat of the Excel! These shorts are a personal favourite of mine and I’ve had them for years! Matalan may not be your usual first stop for pretty clothes but it has some hidden gems!
Another apology here due to these photos not showing my outfit terribly well…lets be honest, I was pretty hungover and not feeling photographs. The skirt is a white, distressed denim mini skirt from Pull and Bear that I didn’t expect to love as much as I do! This top is another amazing Miss Selfridge buy. I don’t usually wear blue but I had to make an exception for this one! It’s a super flattering style and the colour is such a perfect shade of blue for summer.
This is one of my favourite outfits from the trip. It even got compliments from Eve Bennett and Anastasia from Floral Princess! Both the top and skirt are from Miss Selfridge (haha could you ever guess I work there??) and they make me feel like a wannabe 2k13 Taylor Swift. Ideal. In all seriousness though, you can never go wrong with an A-line denim skirt and the bell sleeves on the top are super on trend.
This is a little out of my comfort zone and I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about it on me but it’s bright and summery anyway! The pink slip dress is from Topshop and is such a vibrant colour and I love it! I wore it with a simple grey Miss Selfridge T-shirt underneath and I think it’s a pretty cool look (coming from someone who is definitely the opposite of cool, I could be totally wrong here). My sunglasses are from Coconut Lane (use my discount code catspyjamas20 for 20% off lol) and I love them.
The last outfit is, surprise surprise, also from Miss Selfridge and is a red floral jumpsuit with frill detailing from the petite section – which I am definitely not but somehow it works :)) Although this jumpsuit makes me feel like a baby wearing a onesie, it’s so comfortable and really flattering on.
I hope you liked seeing some of the outfits that I wore and maybe got some inspiration – possibly?? hopefully?? I don’t know, humour me x If anyone else was at SITC let me know, I’d love to hear what you thought about it! Look out for some more SITC posts soon! Much love, Cat x
