Taking on 2018…

Hi Everyone! So first things first, Happy New Year! I can’t actually believe its now 2018 – the year I turn 20, so scary!! I know I’m a little late on the New Year post as we are now a full week in but today I’m going to mention a few of my resolutions for the year. Now, I’m usually really bad at keeping resolutions but this year I’m determined to do it!


So first is one that I think nearly everyone makes every year. In the latter half of 2017, I was really getting into health and fitness. I’ve always been quite interested in cooking and healthy eating so after collating quite a few recipe books I was enjoying trying out new things and I really want to continue that into 2018. My favourite recipe book, if you are interested, is the Lean in 15 by Jo Wicks and the one I have is the red one. Everything is easy to make and it actually tastes nice for being healthy! After moving in with my new flatmate Georgia, we both got quite into the gym so I think both of us are aiming to continue that this year. I have paid for my membership until May so I might as well not waste my money and use it! My siblings also kindly gave me a load of new gym clothes for Christmas so I’m all set!

The next resolution is also quite stereotypical and a bit cheesy. One big thing I want to work on in 2018 is myself and my happiness. I always remember being told when I was really little ‘Always strive to be the best version of yourself and the best you you can be.’ When I think about who I was last semester, I’m not completely happy with my priorities and the way I was acting and this lead to me not being completely happy last semester. This year I just want to get my priorities in check, make sure Uni is my number one and really focus on myself and the people in my life who are important to me. I had quite a bad latter half of 2018 with a couple of things happening that really negatively affected me. Having said that, these things really helped me put some things in perspective and mature a bit. I also realised how many amazing and supportive people I have in my life so I don’t really want to spend anymore of my time thinking and worrying about people who really shouldn’t matter to me, so I’m not going to. I’m starting 2018 fresh, with a really amazing set of people and I’m leaving the negative aspects of my life in 2017. That was a bit deep but I genuinely think personal development is so important and something everyone needs to work on.


My last resolution is a bit more work-related. I really, really want 2018 to be the year of this blog. I want to work really hard on it and post original and exciting things that interest me. I have so many exciting things planned for 2018 and I want to make the most of them and share them on here. I’m currently saving for a new camera as I want to upgrade from the one I have and my brother, who studies computing, is going to help me revamp my site. Apart from that, I really want to improve on my content and write about stuff I’m truly interested in and make my posts as good as they can be. Fingers crossed, 2018 is the year of the blog!

So, that’s the end of my blog post. These are the three main things that I want to work on this year. There’s a couple of other things I want to do as well but if I can achieve these three, I’ll be very happy! I hope you guys enjoyed this post and are doing well with your own resolutions!
